flow.peak_temperature
flow.peak_temperature(temperature, chi, threshold=0.5)
The hottest cell in the solid.
Restricted to the solid because the objective a designer means by “peak temperature” is the junction’s, not a stagnant pocket of air’s. max is only piecewise smooth in the design — its derivative is the derivative at whichever cell currently wins — which is the same bargain Optimization(metric="max") already makes on the FEM path.
Parameters
| Name | Type | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| temperature | jax.Array | (NX, NY, NZ) temperature field. |
required |
| chi | jax.Array | Solid fraction, (NX, NY, NZ). |
required |
| threshold | float | Solid fraction above which a cell counts as solid. | 0.5 |
Returns
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| jax.Array | Scalar peak temperature, or -inf if the design has no solid. |
